Dada Bhagwan, also known as Dadashri, was a spiritual leader from Gujarat, India who founded the Akram Vignan Movement. He was born in 1908 and worked as a contractor before attaining self-realization in 1958. After his experience, he became known as Dada Bhagwan and focused on his spiritual goals, forming the Akram Vignan Movement. The movement promises instant salvation through the grace of Simandhar Swami, for whom Dada Bhagwan serves as a medium. His followers believe in achieving liberation and Moksha through their connection with the Gnani (knower). The movement expanded in Gujarat, Maharashtra, and among the Gujarati diaspora in East Africa, North America, and the UK. Dada Bhagwan passed away in 1988, and after his death, the movement split into different factions led by different successors. His teachings and books have been widely followed and translated into English.
