Baba Mastnath was a revered Hindu saint born in 1764 in Kansreti village in Rohtak district, Haryana, India. His father Sabla ji belonged to the Rebari Hindu community. Baba Mastnath is believed to be a reincarnation of Guru Gorakshnath ji, and he later moved to Math Asthal Bohar, which was established by Chauranginath ji in the 8th century. Baba Mastnath rejuvenated and resurrected the Math, which was in a dilapidated state. In 2012, his seventh disciple Mahant Chandnath established Baba Mast Nath University in his name. Baba Mastnath lived for a hundred years, and during his time, the monarchy of Delhi was weakening due to various factors such as religious fanaticism, foreign invasions, and political conspiracies.
A fair called Baba Mast Nath Mela is held every year in his memory on Phalgun Sudi 7 (February-March) and on the 7th, 8th, and 9th of Shukla Paksh(Lunar) Phagun. People worship at the samadh of the saint at Bohar, and the fair is also held at Khera Sadh in Rohtak Tahsil. Baba Mast Nath is the subject of various literary works, including the Haryana District Handbooks and the Haryana District Gazetteers.
