Satyapramoda Tirtha was an influential spiritual leader and the 41st pontiff of Madhvacharya Peetha - Uttaradi Math, a math dedicated to Dvaita philosophy with a large following in southern India. He was a philosopher, guru, and saint who played an essential role in the spiritual lives of his followers. Tirtha established Jayateertha Vidyapeetha in Bangalore in 1989, which currently has over 200 students and 15 teaching faculty members. The institution specializes in the study of Dvaita Vedanta, Vyakarana, Nyaya, and Nyayasudha, a work on Dvaita Vedanta published by the institution. The institute holds a vast collection of thousands of palm-leaf manuscripts. Satyapramoda Tirtha passed away on November 3, 1997, leaving behind a legacy of spiritual teachings and service to his followers.
