Swami Rama Tirtha, also known as Ram Soami, was an Indian teacher of Vedanta philosophy. He was one of the early Hindu teachers to lecture in the United States, following Swami Vivekananda. During his American tours, he spoke on the concept of 'practical Vedanta' and the education of Indian youth. He advocated bringing young Indians to American universities and helped establish scholarships for Indian students. Swami Rama Tirtha was born on October 22, 1873, in the Gujranwala District of Punjab, Pakistan, and passed away on October 17, 1906. His teachings and contributions continue to have an impact today.
