The Ashtavinayaka yatra, or pilgrimage, visits all eight of Ganesha's sacred temples and is held in the Indian state of Maharashtra. All eight Ashtavinayak temples are Jagrut and Swayambhu (self-originated). For different locations, Lord Ganesh has different names.
Moreshwar, Mahaganpati, Chintamani, Girijatmak, Vighneshwar, Siddhivinayak, Ballaleshwar, and Varad Vinayak are just a few of Lord Ganesh's many monikers.Morgaon, Ranjangaon, Theur, Lenyadri, Ojhar, Siddhatek, Pali, and Mahad are the locations of these temples. These locations are in the districts of Raigad, Ahamadnagar, and Pune.
Six of the eight vinayakas are in the Pune district region, and two are in the nearby Raigad district.Moreshwar of Moregaon is typically the first temple that pilgrims visit.Siddhatek, Pali, Mahad, Thevur, Lenyandri, Ozar, and Ranjangaon were the temples that were visited in order of importance.
The journey comes to an end with a second trip to Moregaon. All of these murtis are referred to as Swayambhu effigies, which is Sanskrit for "the self-existent." This is done to show that they were formed by nature and not sculpted.
