HINDU DHARAM SABHA of AUSTRALIA began in 1997 in Marion St, Bankstown, Sydney Australia at the time home mandir of Pandit Jagdish Sharma.

In 2000, with an increasing number of devotees attending Friday Ramayan and other religious festivals, a property was purchased at Carramar. On 9th June 2000 and the property was converted to the Mandir. In 2000, Shree Sita Ram Mandir was established and funded by several Sanatan Dharam families. In the same year Shree Sita Ram Mandir opened its doors to all devotees and the public.

2000: Shree Sita Ram Mandir hosted its first Ramayan Samellan which was attended by MP for Fairfield Mr Joe Tripoli.

2002: Shree Sita Ram Mandir went through a major reconstruction.

2002: Shri Mahendra Prasad Maharaj a valuable foundation member of Shree Sita Ram Mandir and the first president of Hindu Dharam Sabha (1997-2002) was called to rest.

2003:  First set of murtis imported from Jaipur, India.

Each murti was carved from a single piece of granite. The details on the murtis reflect the intricate skills of the blessed craftsmen of Jaipur. The life size murtis take a prominent place in the Mandir.

Shree Sita Ram Mandir is a non-profit organisation fully funded by devotees. The generosity of the devotees has been overwhelming with donations and offerings contributed for the upkeep of the mandir.

Since its opening, the working committee and their families, under the guidance of Pandit Jagdish Sharma have worked tirelessly to transform Shree Sita Ram Mandir to what it is today. During major religious festivals the mandir is filled to capacity with devotees coming from all parts of Sydney and States.
