In some areas, aivaite ceremonies are entwined with the worship of Naga Devatha. Eastern India is home to several shrines to Naga Devatha, many of which are straw-roofed temples known as Naga Devatha-badis Naga Devatha's houses. The shrines have painted earthenware pitchers depicting hooded snakes. In certain places, there is no such temple; instead, there is an open altar with an Indian Spurge tree (Mansa-sij in Bengali), which is known as a Naga Devatha-tala (abode of Naga Devatha). Flowers, incense, boiled milk, ripe plantains, vermilion, and other offerings are used to honour the deity.

Naga Dosha

A harmful yoga is Naga Dosha, sometimes referred to as Sarpa Dosha. According to the widely accepted definition, a Naga Dosha is created in the horoscope when Rahu or Ketu are each located in the first house and the seventh house, respectively. Sarpa Dosha can cause a native to experience issues with their physical and mental well-being, longevity, marriage, careers, and general well-being as well as issues with black magic, supernatural beings, bad spirits, and a variety of other issues. If a horoscope has a Naga Dosha, it is thought that the native may have committed violent crimes against Sarpas (snakes) in a previous life.

He might have harmed Nagas, taken them and utilised them for his own gain, or murdered Sarpas in a previous existence. He is supposed to have Naga Dosha, which is often thought of as the curse of the Nagas/Sarpas or snake gods, as a result of these karmas. According to the most common explanation of the term, Sarpa Dosha develops in every sixth horoscope. A horoscope contains 12 houses. As a result, the odds of Rahu and Ketu being positioned in the first house are 1 in 12 for Rahu and 1 in 12 for Ketu, respectively. It indicates that there is a 1 in 6 chance that Rahu or Ketu will be placed in the first house.

According to the widely accepted concept of Naga Dosha, it so forms in every sixth horoscope. Rahu and Ketu are constantly positioned 180 degrees apart, it should be observed. It indicates that they are positioned in the seventh sign (house) with relation to one another. Therefore, if one of them is placed in a horoscope's first house, the other will be placed in that horoscope's seventh house. It appears improbable that every sixth native might have harmed Sarpas in a previous existence. In addition, contrary to what the definition says, the negative outcomes predicted by the Naga Dosha are not frequently observed in practise. Therefore, for the formation of Sarpa Dosha in a horoscope, there must be some other requirement that must be satisfied.

The majority of malefic yogas created by navagraha planets occur when these planets are functionally malefic in horoscopes. Malefic yogas are not created by benefic planets. Therefore, for the creation of Naga Dosha in a horoscope, both Rahu and Ketu must be malefic. As a result, the amended definition of Naga Dosha is as follows: Sarpa Dosha is formed in the horoscope if Rahu or Ketu are both malefic and one of them is situated in the first house while the other is put in the seventh house. Depending on his entire horoscope, the Naga Dosha may cause the native problems with his health, longevity, profession, marriage, addictions, vices, psychological issues, black magic, otherworldly creatures, bad spirits, and a variety of other problems.

While some of these natives might get married extremely late or at all, others might never get married. Other locals might experience several broken marriages as well as major marital issues. The effects of Naga Dosha may also cause a variety of health-related issues for the locals who are under its influence. Some of these locals might develop drug addictions, while others might experience psychological problems. Sarpa Dosha's influence may have a negative impact on natives' careers. As a result, these individuals may experience delays, failures, setbacks, financial losses, job loss, a negative reputation, the discontinuance of their profession, as well as a variety of other issues relating to their occupations. The power of the Naga Dosha should be checked when its creation in a horoscope has been established. Rahu and Ketu's positions in different signs, nakshatras, and navamshas, as well as the impacts of other benefic and malefic planets on Rahu and Ketu, are used to determine the strength of the Sarpa Dosha.

The power of the Naga Dosha is also influenced by the horoscope's overall theme and running times (Mahadashas). Looking at the signs, Sarpa Dosha may be particularly strong when malefic Rahu is situated in Taurus or Virgo and malefic Ketu is placed in Scorpio or Pisces. Rahu and Virgo are both exalted in Taurus, whereas Scorpio and Pisces are both exalted in Ketu. Therefore, a Naga Dosha could lead to very significant issues. On the other side, Sarpa Dosha may be weak if malefic Rahu is located in Scorpio or Pisces and malefic Ketu is placed in Taurus or Virgo. Rahu and Ketu are both weak in Scorpio and Pisces, and Rahu is also weak in Taurus and Virgo.

Therefore, a Naga Dosha of this nature might not even cause really major issues. Similar to how the power of Rahu and Ketu in different signs, nakshatras, and navamshas can change the strength of Sarpa Dosha. The third issue is that the negative impacts of Naga Dosha may be lessened if Rahu and/or Ketu are impacted by favourable planets as a result of their conjunction. On the other hand, the negative consequences of Naga Dosha may worsen if Rahu and/or Ketu are under the control of malevolent planets as a result of their conjunction. Regarding the following aspect, a strong and beneficial horoscope may prevent a Sarpa Dosha from causing significant issues.

On the other hand, Naga Dosha may do more harm if the horoscope as a whole is weak and/or malefic. Looking at the running times, the issues brought on by Naga Dosha may diminish during Mahadashas (planetary eras) of benefic planets. On the other hand, Mahadashas of unfavourable planets besides Rahu and Ketu may amplify the severity of issues. When Rahu and Ketu's Mahadashas are active, Sarpa Dosha may result in the greatest amount of harm.
