Saptha mangai sthalams , seven divine feminity's charms dedicated to goddess devi.
There are five places in Thanjavur district in Tamil Nadu in which there are Shiva temples which are more than 1000 years old. These places have lot of architectural, puranik, vedic importance attached to them. According to the Puranas, Parvati Devi (Uma Devi) along with Sapta Matrikas performed sharad navaratri at these temples. Hence these temples are collectively known as Sapta Mangai Sthalams.

“S apthamangai thalams are thiruchakkarapalli, ariyamangai, soolamangai, nandimangai, pasumangai, thazhamangai and pullamangai. These temples are located near ayyampet, thanjavur district . Tiruvaiyaru sapthasthan is famous but kudantha , karantha , thanjavur and tiruchakkarapalli sapthasthans are also unique. As the tiruchakkarapalli sapdasthan sites are associated with sapdamangaiyar , the seven-place festival known as sapdastana festival is celebrated with extra specialness in the region. The good news is that these seven inscriptions belong to the chola period and are accompanied by inscriptional evidence. The beginning and the end are from the gnanasambandara pathikam. All are south bank of cauvery . The seven-day festival is held here for two whole days. It is believed that during the festival of pangunith, if anavidya nathasarma walks along the elur, he will get the grace of saptamangai and get rid of all the evils.
