The presiding deity in this temple is Lord Ayyappa. This temple is a very old temple. The temple is also known as 'Manappurekkavu'. The 'Mugal' soldiers were grouped together near this temple,many years ago for attacking thiruvananthapuram. But the soldiers didn't make any harm to this temple ,because they were devotees of Lord Ayyappa and so they were fearful. This temple has no roof. The sub deities are Lord Siva, Lord Vinayaka , Yakshi, Nagas and Madan. The temple has 'Valiambalam' and 'Aanappanthal'. There is a story behind the 'Parayeduppu' in this temple.
'Lord Ayyappa' in this temple and the Bhagavathys in the temples 'Mookkolakkal' , 'Attukal' and 'Konchiravila' had a quarrel . The three sisters told Lord Ayyappa that they will come to see him and there is no need for him to come and see them. Then they asked Ayyapp
