<p> </p> <p>Sastha Temples 4</p> <p>The Chakkamkulangara Sree Dharmasastha Temple, which is widely believed to have been consecrated nearly 2000 years ago, is located at Thalore in Thrissur district of Kerala. <br /> The temple is constructed in such a way that, the evening sun rays fall to the face of the idol, so the temple is famous for eye diseases. Devotees come here to cure eye-related problems and to offer gold and silver eyes is the major offering here. <br /> <br /> The annual festival of this temple falls on <em>Punartham</em> asterism in the Malayalam month of <em>Meenam</em> and is related to Arattupuzha - Peruvanam Pooram festivities</p> <p> </p> <p>In this temple 'Dharmasastha' resides in the form of 'Bhrahmachari' facing to the west.The idol was installed by 'Varuna'. Every year they celebrates the anniversary of installation of idol in the malayalam month of 'Makaram'.<br /> </p> <p>Important Festivals</p> <p><br /> </p> <p>In the temple ,people celebrate 'mandala pooja' as their festival.Also they celebrates Arattupuzha pooram along with 'Makaram purappadu','Punartham vilakku' and 'Atham Kodikkuthu'.<br /> </p> <p>Main offerings</p> <p><br /> </p> <p>In the temple there is a belief that the deity has a controlling power over elephants.The main offerings here are 'Elluthiri',Archana','Kadum payasam' and 'Neyyabhishekam'.Also one offering named 'Thrikkannu Charthal' is good for eye diseases.'Dharmasastha' in this temple is also treated as 'Vydhya Nathan'.</p>
