SRI KIRUPA KOOBARESWARAR

The sacred energy vortex that resonates with the star Hasta nakshatra is located in Komal near Kumbakonam in Tamil Nadu, India. People born under Hasta should visit this temple at least once during their life time.

Those who visit the temple at Komal and worship Sri Kirupa Koobareswarar (an aspect of Lord Shiva) and Goddess Sri Annapoorani will receive the blessings of divine grace and compassion. People born under Hasta star should worship this form of Shiva with folded hands in prayer, meditation and yoga. It is also recommended for these people to perform the ancestor ritual known as tarpanam. While making the tarpanam offering, water passing over the lines of the person’s hands connects their energy with the energy of the ancestors.

The connection of this temple to Hasta nakshatra begins with the story of Goddess Parvati, who wanted to understand exactly what Lord Shiva experienced as the ruler of the Universe. Shiva participated in Divine sport, so Parvati decided she too would take part in Divine sport to gain the knowledge of Shiva. Parvati playfully covered Lord Shiva’s eyes with her hands, but this simple action caused the entire universe to become in capacitated. She had stopped the flow of water, the movements of planets and everything in the universe became still. Overcome with guilt, Parvati asked Lord Shiva for his forgiveness.

Shiva explained to Parvati that due to her actions, he would disappear into the light known as "Hastayama Jyoti" created by his own hands. Parvati would then incarnate as a cow wondering around the world in search of Shiva until she reunited with him in the form of "Hastayama Jyoti." Parvati was quite distressed about the situation, but followed Shiva’s orders and wandered the earth as a cow, searching for Lord Shiva’s light. Finally, on Hasta star day, Lord Shiva revealed his light to Parvati and bestowed darshan as Sri Kirupa Koobareswarar.

Those born under Hasta nakshatra can offer foods that require the use of one’s hands during preparation to the poor. Making sweet or savory cakes by hand, is a good example of such an offering. This will help assist those who are poor to acquire wealth. It is also recommended that people who are suffering from depression visit the temple at Komal. To make an offering on Pradosham days, Mondays and Wednesdays is a powerful remedy for depression. Finally, those who have marital troubles can walk around this temple from left to right as a remedy for any challenges with marriage.

Komal Sri Krupakupareswarar Temple

Hastha Nakshathira is the 13th one in the list of Nakshatras. Those belonging to Hastha Nakshathira seemed to be fond of dresses and ornaments. They show great interest in education, enjoy music, dance and other fine arts. They are normally talkative and humorous in nature.

But they tend to have a confused mind and they wish for peaceful life. Sri Annapoorani Sametha Krupakupareswarar Temple in a village called Komal in Nagapattinam District is considered as Parihara Temple for the people who are born on Hastham star.

The main deity of this temple is Lord Shiva and He is a Swayambu Linga. He is known by the name Krupakupareswarar. As per the Sthala Purana, once Goddess Parvathi wanted to know how Lord Shiva manages to conduct all the affairs of the world and so she enquired the Lord about it.

That time, Lord Shiva got an idea!! He wished to play a Divine Game (Thiruvilaiadal) with the Goddess. So He made the Goddess Parvathi to close His eyes with Her hand in a playful mood. For a moment, all the activities of the world came to a halt. Goddess got shocked and she begged pardon of the Lord.

Then Lord Shiva said that since she made the Universe dark by covering His eyes, He would disappear in the Hasthavarna Jyothi (A form of Light from His Hands) that emerged from His hands. He also told that she should go to earth in the form of a cow,

find out the light and join Him again. So Goddess Parvathi went to Earth in the form of a Cow and she started searching for the light with the help of Her brother Lord Vishnu. On a Hastha Nakshathira Day, the Jyothi (Light) appeared before the Goddess. This light is known as Komaleeya Jyothi

Then Goddess Parvathi joined the Jyothi. Since Lord Shiva offered His Blessings (Krupa) to Parvathi, He is known by the name Krupakupareswarar. Since this holy incident happened on a Hastha star day, this temple is considered as a Parihara Temple for Hastha Nakshathira.

The Goddess Parvathi is known as Annapoorni. Since the Goddess took the form of a cow and performed Pooja to the Lord, this place is known as ‘Komal’ or ‘Kopuri’ (Ko means Cow). The Sthala Vriksha of this temple is Bilwa Tree. In the temple, we could also find separate shrines for Lord Vinayaka, Muruga, Lingodhbava, Dakshinamurthy, Brahmma, and Chandikeshwar.

As the name suggests, Krupakupareswarar is a God who is full of mercy to His devotees. It is strongly believed that the Lord protects His devotees from any sort of difficulties when He was prayed wholeheartedly.

People who are born on Hastha Nakshathira are advised to visit this temple as often as they could since that would help them in getting relieved from the adverse effects of the planetary positions.

They are advised to offer Pooja to the Lord and the Goddess with Nivedhanas of Laddu, Vada, and Payasam. People who seek happy wedding life and Child Boon come to this temple with a Cow and Calf and go round the Prakara. It is said that by doing so, they get their wishes fulfilled and they would get a peaceful life.

Hasta Nakshatra Divine Tree

From the trees for each constellation, Jasmine or Juhi is the most favorable one for Hasta nakshatra. It is one of the most divine trees, and offering water to this plant brings peace and prosperity to the life of the natives. Moreover, to attract good times, natives can keep nine leaves of this tree and keep them in their house.

Hasta Nakshatra Natives Incense is made with the herb Neem

Burning one of these pillars is like performing a mini fire ritual for that particular star formation. For your specific Birthstar, you will be able to connect inwardly to your planet of energetic origin and gain support with the positive aspects that are you.
