According to a legend, in the year 1860, the potter family living here started digging clay to make utensils. During the excavation, the potter siblings Nand Lal and Nanda found the metal idol of the mother while digging the soil. Which he took to his home. When the villagers came to know, they asserted their rights over the idol of the mother. Mother ordered the potter in the dream that my temple should be built at the place from where I was brought and a pond should be made at the digging place.

The villagers built a grand temple according to that time and installed a metal idol of the mother. Since then till today many legends are going on along with the recognition and fame of the temple and the pond. 'Leprosy is cured by the soil of the pond' The temple of Mata Mansa Devi built on 12 acres in Singhola village of Narela area is grand and ancient.

The pond built in the temple premises is even more grand. The priest of the temple, Arun Kaushik, said that it is believed that any type of leprosy can be cured by applying the mud of the pond on the body. A fair is held in the temple twice a year during the Navratras of Mata. Where lakhs of people come not only from Delhi but also from neighboring states to ask for their wishes.

People have so much reverence and belief towards the temple that devotees from abroad also come here to worship. 'Devotees will gather in temples with time' In normal days there used to be a crowd of devotees in the temple. But due to Corona infection, the government ordered the closure of all religious places. Now after the opening of the temple, according to the fame and recognition of the temple, there is a hope of gathering of devotees once again. The devotees of Mata have formed a committee for the maintenance of the temple. Which works for the upliftment of the temple. Seeing the recognition of the temple, the devotees of the mother give donations from abroad also. Temple History
