Asamai Foundation is a cultural center by and for Hindus.&nbsp;Asamai means &#39;our mother&#39; in Hindi/Punjabi.&nbsp;Asa means &#39;our&#39; and Mai means &#39;mother&#39;.&nbsp;Hinduism has many gods.&nbsp;Our focus is on the goddess Durga Mata, hence the name Asamai.&nbsp;It is a place where children, young people and the elderly come together.&nbsp;On Sunday afternoon and Tuesday afternoon the building is open and we pray to the gods and thank the gods for everything that has been given to us.&nbsp;After this we cook and eat together.&nbsp;

We are also open on Hindu holidays and special occasions.&nbsp;We give the children the right norms and values and we also teach them to read and write Hindi.&nbsp;We try to teach young people Satsang (singing) and Aarti.&nbsp;In addition, excursions are organized to Hindustani events at home and abroad.&nbsp;Come with your children and participate in the activities and read the holy book the &#39;Bhagavad Gita&#39; and the &#39;Ramayan&#39; and learn, live and celebrate Hinduism!

Our foundation has been around since 2001. At the beginning of 2016 we were located in a beautiful area in Zaandam.&nbsp;We try to bring the community together so they don&#39;t end up alone.&nbsp;This applies to both the elderly and young people.&nbsp;In addition to an activity room, we also have a prayer room.&nbsp;The foundation was founded in 2001 by a few Afghan Hindustani people.&nbsp;The idea was to create a meeting place, where people can practice their own culture and faith together and support each other.
