Hagiography

Tapomurti Sadguru Shastri Swami Shri Narayanprasaddasji, also known as Tapomurti Shastri Swami and Guruji, was a revered Hindu saint and prominent figure in the Swaminarayan Sampraday. He made significant contributions to the sect.

Born as Girdhar Radadiya on January 14, 1921, in Gujarat, India, he hailed from a humble background. However, he displayed remarkable intelligence and a strong inclination towards spiritual learning and religious scriptures. At the age of 12, he renounced his family and embraced the life of a saint in the Swaminarayan Sampraday, with the blessings of recognized saints who acknowledged his talent and devotion.

He received his education in Gujarat and later pursued studies at Banaras Hindu University, earning a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in six different religious subjects in Sanskrit. Due to his deep knowledge of Sanskrit, he was often referred to as Sanskrutachary. Swami Narayanprasaddasji also obtained a Shastri degree from Banaras and authored a Sanskrit book called Gyan Vilas.

Throughout his life, Swami Narayanprasaddasji conducted over 100 Kathaas (religious discourses).
