Hagiography

Soyarabai was a remarkable woman who lived in a time when the caste system was rigidly enforced in India, and those who were born into lower castes faced severe discrimination and oppression. Despite this, she was able to develop her own spiritual path and write extensively about her beliefs.

Soyarabai's annual pilgrimage to Pandharpur with her husband, Chokhamela, was a testament to her unwavering faith in God, despite the harassment they faced from orthodox Brahmins. Her example of remaining steadfast in her beliefs despite adversity continues to inspire many people today.

Work Done

Her poetry, written in her own unique style of blank verse, reflects her deep devotion to God and her firm belief in the inherent purity of the soul. She also spoke out against untouchability and the discrimination faced by people of lower castes, which was a brave stance to take in her time.
