Hagiography

Baba Ramdev, also known as Ramdevji or Ramdeo Pir, is a Hindu deity worshipped in Gujarat and Rajasthan, India. He was a 14th-century ruler believed to possess miraculous powers and dedicated his life to uplifting the downtrodden. Ramdev is revered by various social groups in India as their Ishta-deva. He is depicted on horseback and has followers in Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Mumbai, Delhi, and even in Sindh, Pakistan. Many temples and fairs are dedicated to him, and his main temple and samadhi are located in Ramdevra, Rajasthan. Ramdev Jayanti, his birth anniversary, is celebrated annually with a fair at the Ramdevra temple. There is also a temple dedicated to Ramdev in Tando Allahyar, Sindh, Pakistan, which is a significant pilgrimage site for Hindus in Pakistan.
